Bio
Veteran radio personalities, producers and professional DJ's Alric & Boyd are key players and are generally regarded as elders in the Jamaican music fraternity. These celebrated entertainers are resident DJ's and Music Directors for the QUAD (Jamaica's hottest night club); former hosts of the "The Edge" on FAME FM (a leading radio station branded as the "Entertainment Capital of Jamaica"); celebrity judges for Heineken's "Green Synergy" Caribbean DJ competition; and have either produced or worked with some of the biggest names in Reggae, Dancehall, Hip Hop and R&B.
The two are commonly referred to as the Dynamic Duo of Jamaican radio, having created and hosted the ground breaking radio show “The Edge” which ran for a historic 14 years on one of Jamaica’s most popular radio stations. Alric & Boyd have been credited with introducing the Jamaican audience to authentic Hip Hop, as well as creating a niche market for Alternative, House and Rave music on the island. As Music Directors of the internationally acclaimed QUAD Night Club since its inception, the two have consistently set the standard for how music is played and enjoyed in Jamaica. As a result of their work the QUAD was recognised by Condé Nast Traveller magazine as one of the top 35 cool new night spots in the world for 2005.
As producers, Alric & Boyd’s work includes projects with Sly & Robbie (Soundtrack for the motion picture Cool Runnings); Jill Scott (unreleased single); Sean Paul (Dutty Rock album); Beenie Man;and Elephant Man.
Alric & Boyd recently celebrated 16 years as a team by hosting a press launch and 16th anniversary party. The press launch featured historic performances by legendary Grammy wining musicians and producers, Sly & Robbie as well as Bunny Ruggs, lead signer from internationally renowned band Third World, and was attended by several of Jamaica’s celebrated personalities including Usain Bolt, Shaggy and Sean Paul.
